The Publican’s Lunch first lunch for 2015 got underway at Rubira’s new venue in North Melbourne.
A completely booked out Lunch at Rubira’s superb new venue. Our hosts Paul Taberner and John Rubira served a delicious feast of the freshest seafood available. Mouth watering ‘market fresh’ oysters, prawns, scallops and Smoked Salmon, followed by the best fish available, brought in whole and expertly filleted on site and served by friendly staff.
Our special guest speaker for lunch was Australian Cricketer Rodney Hogg. Born in Richmond in 1951, his controversial career started at Northcote Cricket Club and ascended to Victorian, South Australian and Australian representation with 41 wickets for World Series-depleted Australia against England in 1978-79. Rodney Hogg is a great story teller and motivational speaker. The former Australian Test Cricketer; now sporting commentator and writer was a great addition to our lunch.
