In June we headed to the heart of Carlton on the corner of Cardigan and Elgin Streets for an awesome lunch at the Clyde Hotel. Our host Tony (Spud) Dullard, former Melbourne AFL player ensured his warm hospitality won over cold weather with our guest having a choice of generous portions of slow cooked lamb shanks or Asian style roast duck. The guest speaker was industry veteran Mag Kearney who is immediate Past President, Australian Hotels Association (Vic) and Ex CEO of Clubs Victoria (recently merged to form Community Clubs Victoria). Mag is also a practicing lawyer and gave first hand insight to the changes and challenges facing many local Victorian pubs and clubs industry.
